Food Not Bombs Mandalay

Be the first to review
While the Mandalay FNB group is new, Food Not Bombs originated in 1980 in Massachusetts, and now exists in over 1000 cities around the world.

Through the unrestricted sharing of vegetarian food, volunteers in the Food Not Bombs movement share a commitment to non-violent social change. This commitment is underpinned by the belief that every human has the right to nutritious food and freedom from starvation. With no connection to religious or political organizations, Food Not Bombs groups around the world acknowledge only that humans have a responsibility to nurture life, rather than death, and that world hunger could be ended using just a small percentage of military spending.

There are no leaders – everyone is involved in collective decision-making processes. Food is shared in public places without restriction – anyone can eat, participate and/or join.

Food Not Bombs thus aims to foster community networks and friendships with the common aim of empowerment through the prevention of hunger.
