¿Qué es el Ateneo Anarquista de Alcorcón?

Es un nuevo espacio ubicado en el centro de Alcorcón. Quiere ser punto de encuentro para la difusión y el debate de iniciativas e ideas que promuevan la autooorganización y autonomía de las personas, que tengan por base la asamblea y la horizontalidad.

Nos definimos como Ateneo por la especial relevancia que las personas que lo integramos damos a la autoformación personal y colectiva, promoviendo la realización de actividades como charlas, pases de vídeo o presentaciones de libros, proyectos y colectivos.  Pretende también ser un espacio donde puedan reunirse grupos que tengan una visión crítica de la realidad del mundo que nos rodea.

Queremos, en definitiva,  potenciar las luchas que existen o puedan surgir -no recluirlas en un local-, dotándolas de una perspectiva transformadora…

¿Por qué (A)?

Porque creemos en la capacidad para decidir sobre nuestras propias vidas y sobre los conflictos que nos afectan junto a otras personas a través de la empatía, la horizontalidad y el apoyo mutuo; todo ello, sobre la necesidad de construir una alternativa alejada de la lógica capitalista, basada en la autogestión y la auto-organización, sin mediaciones de expertas, representantes o autoridades. Creemos por tanto, que la soberanía de la toma de decisiones no puede ser delegada.

What is the Anarchist Athenaeum of Alcorcón?

It is a new space located in the center of Alcorcón. It wants to be a meeting point for the dissemination and debate of initiatives and ideas that promote the self-organization and autonomy of people, based on assembly and horizontality.

We define ourselves as Athenaeum because of the special relevance that the people who integrate it give to personal and collective self-training, promoting the realization of activities such as lectures, video passes or presentations of books, projects and groups. It also aims to be a space where groups can meet that have a critical view of the reality of the world around us.

We want, in short, to strengthen the struggles that exist or may arise – not confine them in a room -, giving them a transformative perspective …

Because we believe in the ability to decide on our own lives and on the conflicts that affect us together with other people through empathy, horizontality and mutual support; all of this, on the need to build an alternative away from capitalist logic, based on self-management and self-organization, without the mediation of experts, representatives or authorities. We believe, therefore, that the sovereignty of decision making cannot be delegated.
