General Strike San Diego is the local chapter of General Strike U.S., a decentralized network of regular people who know our greatest power is our labor and our constitutional right to refuse it. The chapter started in the summer of 2025, built by volunteers from across San Diego County. For the people, by the people.
Research shows that movements engaging 3.5% of a population have never failed to bring about change. Nationally, GSUS is organizing toward 11 million committed strikers. San Diego is one node in that network, connecting local organizers, workers, and partner groups to the fight.
We've voted. We've protested. And still, they ignore us. While the billionaire class hoards wealth and power, our government refuses to meet our basic needs. Our labor is our greatest strength.
GSUS unites everyone fighting for racial, economic, and environmental justice, not as one singular organization, but as a network of people and groups moving together. No traditional leadership. No one gets paid. In San Diego, that means chapter meetings at 6PM on the first Monday of every month and a community that organizes together year round.

The 11M goal, cards signed, chapters, and partner counts are national figures for General Strike U.S. San Diego organizes as one of its local chapters. All of it funded by community donations and carried out by volunteers.
Building an interconnected groundswell. Reaching organizations and individuals already fighting for justice and connecting them to the network.
With over half committed, the focus shifts to finalizing demands, mapping Strike Day logistics, and expanding the coalition across every sector.
Demands are finalized, legal frameworks established, and strike funds distributed to registered strikers who need support to hold the line.
General Strike San Diego welcomes participation beyond financial contributions. The most powerful thing you can do right now is sign your Strike Card and get others to sign. Every card brings the movement closer to the 11M threshold. It takes two minutes and costs nothing.
The chapter also needs people willing to organize locally, connect partner organizations to the network, and show up. San Diego meets at 6PM on the first Monday of every month on Zoom, and the community coordinates day to day on Discord.
Every dollar you contribute goes directly to General Strike San Diego to support their organizing and base-building work.
