Here is an update from the organizing team to Stop the Ahunah Hydropower Dam Project. (see the first post for more background information)

The Sangguniang Bayan (Municipal Council) had a session last Monday (03 Oct 22) regarding the Letter Request from Ahunan Power (received by Pakil government on 23 Sep 22) requesting for revocation of the prior SB Resolution that revoked the three (3) SB Resolution granted to the Ahunan Power that was initially issued before by the Sangguniang Bayan. It is about the proposed eco-destructive Ahunan Hydropower project that will be built in the mountain of Pakil part of Sierra Madre Mountain Range.
On the session, there is a presentation made by MANAPAK about the possible negative impacts of this project to the lives of the people of Pakil, to the ecology of Pakil, to the socio-cultural aspect of Pakil.
Some council members are trying to railroad the process in favor of the proponent but others strongly suggest that the decision be made thoroughly according to studies.
