This month, the Mutual Aid General Fund sends $550 in financial solidarity to Sacramento Food Not Bombs (Sac FNB).
Sac FNB is a chapter of Food Not Bombs, which started in 1980 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, when anti-nuclear organizers fed each other at demonstrations. More than 1,000 chapters now exist. Each is autonomous and makes decisions by consensus.
In Sacramento, volunteers cook vegan meals from recovered food and serve them on Sunday afternoons. They also connect with other mutual aid groups and join community events.
The fund supports local, community-based mutual aid, where neighbors feed neighbors and decide together what their community needs. Sac FNB does that every week. The $550 goes to the group in full, to use as they see fit.
Follow Sac FNB on Instagram at @sacfoodnotbombs to see when and where they serve next.

Congratulations, Sacramento!
