Utopia Libertaria Distribución Región Chilena

Distribuimos en la región chilena libros de la colección Utopía Libertaria. Mantenemos los precios de distribución de los libros de la ciudad de Bs.As La colección “Utopía libertaria”, se concibió en la bullente Argentina del año 2002. Los iniciadores proveníamos del grupo editor de la revista UTOPÍA, que se editó en Buenos Aires en los años 80. Todos los integrantes de este grupo veníamos con una – corta o larga según los casos – militancia previa en el anarquismo y la mayor parte nos conocimos en los denominados (y efímeros) Grupos de Autogestión de los finales de los 70 y comienzos de los 80. Quien era además diseñador de la revista, Carlos Gioiosa [Cutral], fallecido hace pocos años, fue quien hizo el diseño de la colección, tal y como – con ligeros cambios – aún se mantiene. A la inversa de lo tradicionalmente conocido (esto es que una determinada editorial tenga varias colecciones que la integran) “Utopía Libertaria”, como lo dicen las solapas de todos los ejemplares, se propone ser una colección compartida transversalmente por diferentes grupos libertarios, cada uno con su propio sello editorial.

En la Argentina el precedente inmediato y de gran envergadura fue la Editorial Proyección. Entre los años 60 y 70 confluyeron distintas tendencias del anarquismo local que, dejando de lado diferencias, acordaron emprender una acción conjunta de difusión. Se formó un consejo editorial en el que se decidía lo que se publicaba dando lugar, lógicamente, a disidencias, debates y negociaciones sobre la oportunidad o no de editar determinados títulos o autores. Previamente a esa experiencia, existió otro precedente, de alguna forma en espejo con lo que se propone Utopía Libertaria: los libros que, en los años 40 y 50, editaba Americalee [la editorial de América Scarfó] salían de la misma imprenta en tiradas paralelas, con los sellos de otras dos editoriales afines: la editorial La Obra, relacionada con el grupo “La Antorcha” y la editorial TUPAC, de la Biblioteca Popular José Ingenieros.

En “Utopía Libertaria” no existe un consejo editor como tal pues se admiten a todas las líneas ideológicas que caben dentro del amplio espectro libertario. Sin embargo -y en teoría porque el caso hasta ahora no se ha presentado- no existe obligación por parte de ninguna de las editoriales participantes, de financiar o apoyar con ventas o difusión cualquier título a autor con el que no acuerde, ya sea por razones ideológicas o simplemente de calidad.

Lo que se brinda “desde la colección” son las facilidades técnicas y de comercialización por pertenecer a un conjunto reconocido y reconocible dentro del mundo del libro local y, en algún grado, global. Las propuestas de edición provienen tanto de los grupos editores como desde afuera, ya que hay autores que nos acercan sus trabajos o sugerencias sobre la conveniencia de editar tal o cual título, por tratarse de una novedad interesante o de algún texto agotado y ya inconseguible.

Esta flexibilidad nos ha permitido editar tanto clásicos del anarco individualismo, como del anarcomunismo o del anarcosindicalismo, además de investigaciones sobre temas históricos o sobre aspectos ideológicos más novedosos.

Como elemento distintivo, y en función de la coherencia, hemos adoptado una fórmula que denominamos “Anticopyright” y que dice, parafraseando la fórmula tradicional, “La reproducción de este libro, a través de medios ópticos, electrónicos, químicos, fotográficos o de fotocopias, está permitida y alentada por los editores”, es decir que ni siquiera está restringida su reproducción con fines de lucro. En este sentido, además de liberar el acceso para quien no puede o no quiere adquirir los ejemplares físicos, ponemos los pdf de todos los títulos a disposición de quien lo desee, para que cualquiera y en cualquier sitio, pueda reproducir el libro tal cual, rehacerlo con otras características de diseño o tomar las partes que le parezcan más adecuadas.

The “Libertarian Utopia” collection was conceived in the bustling Argentina of 2002. The initiators came from the publishing group of the UTOPÍA magazine, which is he gave in Buenos Aires in the 80s. All the members of this group came with a – short or long depending on the case – previous militancy in anarchism and most of us met in the so-called (and ephemeral) Self-Management Groups of the finals from the 70s and early 80s. Who was also the magazine’s designer, Carlos Gioiosa [Cutral], who died a few years ago, was the one who made the design of the collection, just as – with slight changes – it still remains. Contrary to what is traditionally known (that is, a certain publishing house has several collections that make it up) “Libertarian Utopia”, as the lapels of all copies say, it is proposed to be a collection shared transversely by different libertarian groups, each With its own editorial stamp.

In Argentina, the immediate and large precedent was the Editorial Projection. Between the 60s and 70s, different trends of local anarchism converged that, leaving aside differences, agreed to undertake a joint dissemination action. An editorial board was formed in which it was decided what was published, logically leading to dissent, debates and negotiations on the opportunity or not to publish certain titles or authors. Prior to that experience, there was another precedent, somehow in a mirror with what is proposed by Libertarian Utopia: the books that, in the 40s and 50s, Americalee [the publisher of America Scarfó] edited from the same printing house in parallel runs , with the stamps of two other related publishers: La Obra publishing house, related to the “La Torch” group and TUPAC publishing house,

In “Libertarian Utopia” there is no editorial board as such because all the ideological lines that fit within the broad libertarian spectrum are admitted. However – and in theory because the case so far has not been presented – there is no obligation on the part of any of the participating publishers, to finance or support with sales or dissemination any title to author with which they do not agree, either for reasons Ideological or simply quality.

What is provided “from the collection” are the technical and marketing facilities for belonging to a recognized and recognizable set within the world of local and, to some extent, global books. The editing proposals come from both the publishing groups and from the outside, since there are authors who bring us their works or suggestions about the convenience of editing this or that title, because it is an interesting novelty or some exhausted and already unattainable text.

This flexibility has allowed us to edit both classic anarcho individualism, anarcomunismo or anarcosindicalismo, in addition to research on historical issues or on newer ideological aspects.

As a distinctive element, and based on coherence, we have adopted a formula that we call “Anticopyright” and that says, paraphrasing the traditional formula, “The reproduction of this book, through optical, electronic, chemical, photographic or photocopy means , is allowed and encouraged by the publishers ”, that is to say that its reproduction is not even restricted for profit. In this sense, in addition to freeing access for those who cannot or do not want to acquire the physical copies, we make the pdf of all the titles available to those who want it, so that anyone and anywhere can reproduce the book as is, remake it with other design features or take the parts that seem most appropriate.
