Druckluft

Seit 1979 bis heute schaffen sich Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene im Druckluft eine eigene Spähre.

Damals waren es 40 junge Menschen, die, hervorgegangen aus einer Jugendinitiative, ihre Interessen selbst in die Hand genommen haben.

1980 war für diese Menschen der Startschuss auf dem jetzigen Gelände unmittelbar neben einem stillgelegten Schacht der Zeche Concordia fand das Druckluft seine Heimat.
Die Stadt Oberhausen überließ dem mittlerweile gegründeten Verein Druckluft e.V., das ehemalig von Babcock genutzte Gelände zur Jugendarbeit.

Aber, was heißt hier Gelände?

Es ging eher um ein schäbiges Gebäude, dem das Alter so arg in den Knochen steckte, dass die mühsame Wiederbelebung die folgenden Jahre bestimmt hat. Mit bescheidene finanzielle Mittel viel Engagement, Enthusiasmus und Muskelkraft wurde ein Rahmen realisiert in welchem Jugendliche und junge Heranwachsende die Möglichkeit hatten eigenverantwortlich zu gestalten.

Nach dem Umbau wurde aus dem dunklen, in die Jahre gekommenen Gebäude eine wahre Insel an tollen Möglichkeiten.

Wir haben Gruppenräume, eine Jugendwerkstatt, das alte und neue Café, die Halle, Kurts Haus, einen Besprechungsraum, Oberhausens wieder schönsten Biergarten, drei Bühnen, zwei Außenbühnen, Discoraum, Kinoraum, Beamer und Leinwand, Proberäume, freies Wlan, größtmögliche Barrierefreiheit, das vegane Restaurant „Schmackofatz“ und, und, und.

Die festen Mitarbeiter_innen gewährleisten, dass alles allen Aktiven im Haus zur Verfügung steht.

Das Team der Festangestellten hilft bei rechtlichen und organisatorischen Fragenn, wie dem Formulieren von Anträgen, dem Kalkulieren von Veranstaltungen, der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und, und, und. Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe fördert Eigeninitiative sowie Verantwortungsbewusstsein und trägt dazu bei, dass alle Nutzer_innen Druckluft als “ihr” Haus begreifen können.

Durch das regelmäßig stattfindende Hausplenum haben alle die Möglichkeit Vorschläge und Ideen einer breiteren Masse an Menschen vorzustellen und zu überzeugen.

Doch das Druckluft ist nicht nur ein Ort für Konzerte, Partys, Besprechung, Gruppentreffen u.v.m, nein, wir sind auch im Rahmen der offenen Jugendarbeit “Offene Tür” in Oberhausen und werden durch Mittel für Jugendarbeit des Landes NRW und der Stadt Oberhausen gefördert. Hierdurch besteht die Möglichkeit im Jugendbereich alle Angebote kostenlos anzubieten.

Der Verein “Druckluft e.V.” ist u.a. Mitglied im Paritätischen Wohlfahrtsverband und in der Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft soziokultureller Zentren.

Wir sind offen für alle und bewerten Menschen an ihren Handlungen und nicht anhand ausschließender Mechanismen. Kritisches Bewusstsein versuchen wir auch weiterhin mit Vorträgen, Workshops, Lesungen, etc. zu fördern und freuen uns auch über Anregung von euch.

We have group rooms, a youth workshop, the old and new café, the hall, Kurt’s house, a meeting room, Oberhausen’s most beautiful beer garden, three stages, two outdoor stages, disco room, cinema room, beamer and screen, rehearsal rooms, free WiFi, maximum accessibility vegan restaurant “Schmackofatz” and, and, and.

The permanent employees ensure that everything is available to all the active people in the house.

The team of permanent employees helps with legal and organizational issues, such as formulating applications, calculating events, public relations and, and, and. Help for self-help promotes self-initiative as well as sense of responsibility and contributes to the fact that all users can understand compressed air as “their” home.

Through the regular house plenary all have the opportunity to present suggestions and ideas to a broader mass of people and to convince.

But the compressed air is not only a place for concerts, parties, meetings, group meetings and much more, no, we are also in the open youth work “Open Door” in Oberhausen and are funded by funds for youth work of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Oberhausen. This makes it possible to offer all offers for free in the youth area.

The association “Druckluft eV” is a member of the Joint Welfare Association and of the state working group of socio-cultural centers.
