Financial Solidarity Project

General Strike San Diego Joins the Financial Solidarity Project

Jason Bayless ·

General Strike San Diego is the newest project in A Radical Guide’s Financial Solidarity Project. The San Diego chapter of General Strike U.S. joins Dandelion Seeds, General Strike U.S. (National), and General Strike Los Angeles. Supporters can now give to it directly through A Radical Guide. The chapter started in the summer of 2025, built by volunteers from across San Diego County. GSUS SD meets at 6 PM on the first Monday of every month and keeps organizing the rest of the time, coordinating day-to-day on Discord.

The idea behind a general strike is old and simple. Our labor holds everything up. When enough of us refuse it at the same time, the people who count on that labor have to answer. Research shows that movements engaging 3.5% of a population have never failed to bring about change. Nationally, General Strike U.S. is organizing toward 11 million committed strikers, and San Diego is one node in that network, connecting local organizers, workers, and partner groups to the fight.

The Financial Solidarity Project exists so grassroots projects can take donations without routing money through an outside institution that charges a fee to move it. Every dollar given to General Strike San Diego goes to General Strike San Diego. A Radical Guide takes no overhead. The chapter puts it toward the day-to-day cost of organizing across the county and toward building the systems that will hold strikers up when it is time to stay home.

You can support their work through their donation page: General Strike San Diego.
