Financial Solidarity Project

General Strike Los Angeles Joins the Financial Solidarity Project

Jason Bayless ·

We’re glad to announce the newest addition to A Radical Guide’s Financial Solidarity Project: General Strike Los Angeles, the Los Angeles chapter of General Strike U.S. It joins Dandelion Seeds and General Strike U.S. (National) as the newest project we’re proud to stand behind.

The Financial Solidarity Project gives aligned grassroots projects a place to receive donations that keeps money inside the movement. Supporters of General Strike U.S. Los Angeles can now give through A Radical Guide. General Strike US Los Angeles logo with raised fist.

The project comes from our commitment that the people organizing for a better world should be able to focus on their work, and the movement should hold onto the resources it generates. A Radical Guide builds infrastructure for people doing liberation work, and financial solidarity is part of that. We partner with projects rooted in community, mutual aid, and liberation, work that is building the world we all deserve.

General Strike U.S. and its chapters are serving that goal. Across the country, they are organizing around a shared understanding: our collective labor holds everything up, and withholding it together is one of the strongest tools we have. That vision of people acting together for racial, economic, and environmental justice is the kind of work the Financial Solidarity Project exists to stand with and make possible.

In LA County, that work is carried by people preparing for a general strike. General Strike LA is a grassroots, decentralized chapter that formed on March 1, 2025, and it runs entirely on volunteers.

General Strike U.S. believes our greatest strength is our labor and our right to refuse it. Research shows that movements engaging 3.5% of a population have never failed to bring about change. Nationally, General Strike U.S. is organizing toward 11 million committed strikers, and Los Angeles is one node in that network, connecting local organizers, workers, and partner groups to the fight.

Donations to General Strike LA go to their strike fund, which covers the day-to-day costs of organizing in LA County and builds the systems needed to support striking workers so they can stay home when the time comes.

You can support their work through their new donation page: General Strike Los Angeles
